The Justin M. Albanese Memorial Excellence in Sports Scholarship honors the memory of Justin M. Albanese, who was a 1999 GHS graduate, who passed away from synovial sarcoma cancer on March 30, 2010.
Justin was such a jovial and likeable person and had many friends in all walks of life. His untimely death at only 28-years of age is a reminder to us all to make everyday count and to enjoy life to its fullest.
In remembrance of Justin, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating Gloversville High School senior, who will continue educational studies at a two- or four-year college, or technical institute. The graduating senior will embody Justin’s fun-loving spirit, his love of sports, particularly his passion for golf and skiing, as well as possess personal qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, love of music and most importantly, love of family.
