For more than four decades, Penguin Rep Theatre has endured and triumphed in its mission to bring innovative and stimulating professional theatre to Rockland County. The Penguin Rep Theatre Community Advancement Fund was created to assist “the gutsiest little theatre”(New York Times) in defying the economic and competitive odds to present new and noteworthy plays and special entertainment events to thousands of local and Tri-State Area patrons annually – a boon to local eateries and other Rockland businesses. Many exciting and thought-provoking plays, developed and premiered at Penguin Rep, have moved into New York City and on to numerous prestigious American regional and international theatres. In addition, Penguin Rep Theatre provides nurturing support to new and emerging playwrights through its summer new play reading series. The Penguin Rep Theatre Community Advancement Fund, with the essential backing of existing and new donors, builds the current and future gift streams necessary to help support Penguin Rep Theatre’s community-enriching cultural efforts now … and for decades to come.
