“The Amato and Famellette families came to America because of political unrest in Italy and settled in the mid-Hudson Valley. They were farmers and merchants who were generous with their time, talent and treasure. The family was very supportive of their new community and the nation at large. The Famellette’s have a rich history in the education sector. Judy Dryer Famellette, Joe Famellette and Thea Fry worked with students and faculty at the Chappaqua, Scarsdale and Suffern school districts for many years. It was a collective honor and privilege to support these schools and help students, and now future students, who will follow. They have selected the Rockland Community Foundation to manage their family’s donor advised fund so they can continue the family’s legacy of charitable giving for generations to come.
