The Guarnieri Family T1D Opportunity Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to Rockland County high school seniors who have Type 1 Diabetes and who are planning to further their education in an accredited higher education program. Each year the Guarnieri Family will recognize at least one brave student who demonstrates exceptional character by awarding that student a $1,000 scholarship.
The Harriet D. Cornell Rockland 21C Scholarship will provide a grant in the amount of $1,000 to a Rockland County female High School senior who is planning to attend a four-year college, who has shown strong leadership qualities, and participated in activities that reflect a diversity of interests and community service.
The Toni and Ed Fallon Jazz Scholarship Funds provides financial support for Rockland County HS seniors pursuing formal jazz studies.
The Welles Remy Crowther Red Bandanna Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to the courage and heroism of 24- year-old Welles Remy Crowther (The Man in The Red Bandanna) who rescued many on 9/11 before he ultimately perished. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving high school graduate choosing to pursue a career in fire and emergency services or health related services.
The Christine Gallagher Scholarship recognizes a high school senior who resides in Rockland County and has shown a demonstrated commitment towards the education and treatment of those with disabilities.
Judith Johnson was described by Gary Stern of the Journal-News (October 22, 2019) as the “best known educator in the Lower Hudson Valley, who fought for educational equity for decades and represented the region on the state Board of Regents since 2015. One $500 scholarship will be awarded this year. Recipients must be Rockland County or Peekskill residents interested in furthering their education by attending a college/university or a vocational school. This award is open to previously enrolled and current students. The age range to qualify for this award is 17-26 years old.
The RBWN Women’s Professional Development and Scholarship Funds gives scholarships to Rockland-based high school, BOCES and RCC graduating women pursuing advanced degrees and provides awards to RBWN members enrolled in programs that enhance their skills, knowledge and leadership potential.
The ML by Maria Luisa Scholarship annually supports a need-based female graduating HS student in Rockland County, who has demonstrated a desire to learn and foster principals of civic and community involvement, issues around Social Justice, Inequality, and related interests supporting Fair Trade and Eco-friendly principles.
The Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship was created by the Elmwood Playhouse community to celebrate our beloved colleague, educator and community theater member Larry D. Gabbard. A $1,500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school senior residing in Rockland County who intends to pursue a career in the performing arts. This includes those intending to major in Performance, Arts Management, Stage Management, or Technical Design.
Each year, the Christine Cordey Salon Scholarship and Community Fund will provide financial support for a Rockland, Orange or Westchester student entering or currently enrolled in a cosmetology program.
